Message from your management team
Hello Radburn Residents – We hope that you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving celebrations with family and friends. Thus begins the Holiday season going forward – we hope a happy time for all!
At the Nov 19th board meeting, the 2019 budget was presented, voted on and approved.
The next time we hope to see you is at the election which will take place between 6 – 8 pm on Monday, December 10th. Stop by to cast your vote in person if you have not mailed in your ballot (who knows, you may run into a candidate that night, and you can ask a question before you cast your final vote). There will be a voting meeting at 7:30 pm in reference to adopting the new by-laws and afterwards, The Annual Members Meeting will be held at 8:00 pm on that same day - December 10th.
There are several projects the board has in mind to improve and upgrade the facilities and policies/procedures. Some projects were mentioned at the budget meeting. For example, a new fence in ‘R’ park and repairing the electric to the stage in ‘B’ park are a few examples. We also sold the two trucks that were parked and not being used, the funds received will be used for some technical upgrades in the office. We have also reduced the insurance premium a bit since disposing of these unused vehicles. We have continued to make some cosmetic improvements at The Grange – we painted both bathrooms on the main floor and also began repairs on the post out front that had rotted wood as well as the sign needing eventual replacement. We reached out to a talented homeowner for input and hope to have a wonderful new sign out front soon.
The Board has invited the 9 candidates to meet with The Board and management this week to get them up to speed with some of the ongoing projects at hand. We would love to continue to work with those candidates who do not get a seat on The Board, with an option to get involved in committees that the Board is considering creating.
Management has begun to review the parks and the traffic that goes through there. We are working on creating solutions to cut down on vehicles going in the park - this is something that is a work in progress. The goal is to stop the vehicles in the park, get grass growing and start repairs on the foot paths. All of this will take time and planning, as well as funding.
Management has been notified about a number of vandalism incidents in the park, it is our recommendation that any incidents of vandalism be reported to the police department immediately for them to address.
As I have said before, this is an exciting time to be part of Radburn Association as we move forward with continuing to make this “The Place to Be” ! Best regards, Janet Lepson-Sedaka and TEAM
