RADBURN TENNIS COURT RULES
These rules exist for the purpose of maintaining our courts and providing
an opportunity for all to use them. Each resident is asked to cooperate,
and to assist in enforcing them.
PLEASE NOTE THAT RADBURN ASSOCIATION SPONSORED CLASSES TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INDIVIDUAL PLAY.
Please be considerate of others so that the courts may be enjoyed by
everyone entitled to use them.
-
Do not walk or stand in back or between courts while play is in progress
-
Return balls to other courts without interfering with play in progress
- Tennis Court keys are $2.00 and are available at the Grange during business hours. Please relock court upon entering and when you leave.
-
Every resident shall post his or her Radburn Photo ID card on the clipboard
before beginning play. UNLESS THE RESIDENT PHOTO ID CARD IS POSTED,
NO PERSON MAY USE THE COURTS.
-
Radburn Photo ID cards are NOT TRANSFERABLE. If found in the possession
of a person other than the person to whom it is issued, the card will be
confiscated, and privileges will be suspended.
-
Sneakers or tennis shoes only may be worn on the tennis courts.
-
Players are expected to wear appropriate attire. Shirts must be worn at all times. Bathing suits are not permitted.
-
Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards and pets are not permitted on the
courts. No ball playing of any kind other than tennis is permitted.
-
Tennis ball cans and other debris should be placed in the trash receptacles
provided.
-
Sitting or leaning on the nets is damaging to the nets and net straps and
is strictly prohibited.
WHEN RESIDENTS WITH VALID RADBURN PHOTO ID CARDS ARE WAITING
FOR A COURT, THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY:
-
ADULT PRIVILEGE
-
On Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and after 6 PM on weekdays, children not
yet graduated from high school must vacate a court promptly upon request
of any adult resident, unless playing with an adult resident who has posted
his or her valid Photo ID card.
-
COURT ROTATION - TIME LIMITS
-
SINGLES - One hour maximum. Singles players should finish the game
in progress and then form -doubles. However, if singles players prefer
to continue their game, or if waiting players decline to play doubles,
the singles players are entitled to finish their hour's play.
-
DOUBLES - One and one-half hours maximum. Bringing in one replacement
player at a time in a doubles match DOES NOT extend the time limit. When
the first hour and a half has elapsed, the court is to be relinquished
to any waiting resident with valid Photo ID card, immediately upon completion
of the GAME in progress.
-
A player awaiting the arrival of an opponent may not hold a court vacant.
-
Rallying or practice counts towards the allotted time limits.
GUEST POLICY
Guests are permitted as long as residents' rights to the use of the
courts are not curtailed.
-
Guests may not be invited to the courts on weekend mornings. They are welcome
on weekend afternoons after 1 PM, and during weekdays.
-
Guests must be accompanied by a Radburn resident who is required to remain with and be responsible for the guest.
-
A resident who has a houseguest may obtain a temporary pass for the limited
period of the visit to permit the houseguest to play. This pass must be
posted on the clipboard before play begins, and the houseguest need not
be accompanied by a resident.
-
Each resident is entitled to bring one guest at a time to the courts.
