1. All residents of Radburn over five years of age must present a valid photo identification card issued by The Radburn Association for admission to the swimming pool. Children under five years of age do not require ID cards.

 
2. Children under eight years of age will be admitted ONLY WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY AND UNDER THE CARE OF AN ADULT OR APPROVED BABYSITTER. The person in charge of the child is to remain with and be solely responsible for the child.

 
3. Children between eight and thirteen years of age will be given a swimming ability test in which they must be able to demonstrate that they can swim the length of "B" Pool (25 meters) competently, using the Freestyle or Crawl stroke. The child must be able to exhibit appropriate breathing technique and may not stop to rest along the way.

   Children who do NOT pass the swimming ability test will not be admitted to the pool unless they are accompanied by and under the care of an adult or approved babysitter, who is to remain with and be solely responsible for the child.
    

4. Identification cards must be picked up from the Gate Attendant upon departure from the pool, and may not be left at the pool.

 
5. No person is permitted within the pool area except during public swim hours, unless the person is participating in a Radburn sponsored activity. Violation of this rule will subject the person to suspension of swimming privileges. Climbing over the fence, or entering the pool areas at any time when the gates are locked constitutes a TRESPASS, and will subject trespassers to disorderly persons charges.

 
6. During "Quiet Hours", no children under eighteen years of age are permitted within the pool enclosure, except those graduating from high school in June who have been issued the Adult Identification Card.

GUEST ADMISSION

1. Guests will be admitted to the pools only when accompanied by a Radburn resident who is required to remain with and be responsible for the guest. The guest fees are $5.00 per person for guests ages 13 and above, and $3.00 per child for guests between the ages of 3 and 12. There is no charge for children under the age of three. The guest fee is payable to the Gate Attendant.

   Adult non-resident children who are staying with their parents for an extended visit and bona fide houseguests of Radburn residents shall be eligible for passes for specific time periods:

   
   
   1. For the first two weeks as a guest, a pass shall be issued which defines the dates of the period, and permits the guest to be admitted to the pool without the resident upon payment of the appropriate guest fee to the gate attendant.
   
    
   2. From the 15th through the 30th day, a separate pass shall be issued with the same attendance privilege, but upon payment of a fee which represents 2/3 of the regular guest fee, rounded to the nearest dollar.
   
    
   3. From the 31st day, a separate pass shall be issued with the same attendance privilege, but payment shall represent 40% of the regular guest fee rounded to the nearest dollar.
   
   
2. No child under the age of thirteen may bring a guest to the pool unaccompanied by an adult who is to remain with the guest, unless the guest is an adult who is in charge of the child.

 
3. Residents between the ages of thirteen and eighteen may bring no more than two guests at one time. The guests must be thirteen years of age or older, and must pass the deep water test.

 
4. If the pool bather capacity is reached, no further guests will be admitted.

 
5. Application must be made to the Board of Trustees for circumstances which are not met by the daily guest pass or the houseguest pass.

APPROVED BABYSITTERS

1. Babysitters under the age of eighteen must be certified in Lifeguard Training.

 
2. Adult babysitters who are not Radburn residents are admitted to the pool with the resident children in their care without fee if attired in Street clothes. The guest fee is charged if they swim with the children.
   
   
   
   

THE LIFEGUARD IN CHARGE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO REQUEST ANY PERSON TO LEAVE THE POOLS IN THE EVENT OF NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES OR FOR ANY OTHER CAUSE THAT IN HIS OR HER JUDGMENT WARRANTS SUCH ACTION. SUSPENSION OF SWIMMING PRIVILEGES IS AN AUTHORIZED DISCIPLINARY MEASURE.
 

1. Any person showing evidence of any communicable skin disease, sore or inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharge or any communicable disease shall be refused admission.

 
2. Persons with excessive sunburn, open blisters, cuts or bandages shall be refused admission.

 
3. Do not enter the water if you are experiencing or recovering from diarrhea or have had any signs or symptoms of a gastrointestinal (stomach) disease in the past seven days.

 
4. NO DIAPERS WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE WATER. Children who are not yet toilet trained must wear training pants under waterproof pants with snug fitting elastic waist and leg bands, or the baby swimsuit available for purchase from the Gate Attendant. Do not wash out soiled diapers in the bathing water.
    
5. Children should be encouraged to use the restroom before entering the water. Immediately report any "accidents" you observe in the bathing waters to a lifeguard.
    
6. No animals, except for service animals shall be allowed in the swimming pool enclosure.

 
7. All persons shall shower before entering the water.
    
8. Conduct which endangers the safety and comfort of others shall be prohibited.
    
9. Outdoor bathing shall be prohibited during an electrical storm, and for ½ hour thereafter.
    
10. Persons suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol shall be prohibited from entering the water.
     
11. Food, chewing gum and beverages are STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES within the pool enclosure.

 
12. Dressing or undressing in rest rooms, pool houses, or on the deck of the pools is prohibited. A bathing suit cover-up must be worn going to and from the pools.

 
13. No child or other person will be allowed to enter the water unless in a bathing suit.

 
14. No baby carriages will be permitted within the pool area during QUIET HOURS. The volume of radios at the pool must be kept at a minimum level.

 
15. Use of flotation devices is restricted to the Baby Pool at "B" Pool and to the shallow end of "B" and "R" Pools. No ball playing is permitted if people are swimming in the pool.

 
16. Smoking is not permitted except in designated areas, and not within three feet of the pool.

 
17. No bicycles or skateboards are permitted within the pool enclosures or blocking the entrance to the pools.

 
18. At the direction of the Pool Manager or Guard on duty:

 
1. For ten minutes each hour in hot weather, there will be an adult swim. No children are permitted in the pool during this period.

 
2. Gutter ball will be permitted when the Pool Manager or Guard determines that the lack of swimmers in the pool allows the game to be played safely. (Only nerf-type balls may be used)
